What is Keno?

Keno is a lottery-style gambling game that traces its roots back over 2,000 years to ancient China. According to legend, it was invented by a general named Cheung Leung during wartime to raise money for his city. The original version used Chinese characters, but the game spread along trade routes and like all games, evolved over time.

Keno was introduced to the West by Chinese immigrants, especially during the construction of the American First transcontinental railroad in the 19th century. It later became a staple in casinos, where it was adapted to use numbers instead of characters for broader appeal.

In modern Keno, players choose numbers (typically 1 to 20) from a pool (usually 1 to 80). Then, a random draw selects 10 to 20 winning numbers. In this Keno game you have 40 numbers to select from, and then 10 winning numbers are drawn. My version loosely  follows Keno games of Finland's Slot Machine Association

How to Play:

1. Pick up to 10 numbers on the keno grid.

2. Place your bet and start the round.

3. Watch as numbers are drawn—matches are highlighted.

4. Play again with the same numbers, or clear and pick new ones.
